We managed an eight game run of wins before losing out to Stanwell
however, the good news is that we have gone to the top of the
Chiltern and Thames league - let's stay there where we belong !

There has been some secret evening practicing going on at the green
behind closed gates - someone is claiming that they are nearly ready
for their sensational come back later this season - who can it be -
my lips are sealed - but they of course could be forced open on the
handing over of a crisp fifty pound note.

The less said about the Uxbridge result the better. However,
the trip to Worthing proved a good result for the playing members
and an even better result for the breakaway drinking members (we
know who we are) who were invited to a birthday party drink by a
local couple in the town - it would have been very rude to
refuse. Thank you Graham and Chrissie.

Bad Luck came back from South Africa on Sunday to pick up its
coat. As a result no further injuries in the England squad but
a loss to Broomwade for Fassnidge.

Bad Luck, after an unwelcome stay at Fassnidge since the start of
the season, has at last decided to move on to new higher profile
pastures. Consequently Rio Ferdinand is now out of the England
squad and Fassnidge recorded an 88 to 54 victory over Bovingdon!
Additionally, the ladies triumphed in their first round of the
County double rink competition.

May statistics = Played 9. Won 1. Lost 8. However only 3, of the
games were league matches. Although we lost the 2 TCL games we
won the solitary CT match.
So the spin doctor says, we have won all our CT matches and are
running second in the TCL ones!

Double bubble of bad news. Bad News 1 - Lost third friendly in
a row on Sunday. Went to see the Chairman to inspect his leg -
it is still in a cast. Bad News 2 - The big worry is that when
it eventually comes off he is thinking of either donating it as the
star prize for the dinner and dance raffle or having it as the top
table centre piece!

Two losses in a row and I can't even blame Jinxy as he is now only a
social member (or can I?) - must be down to the team agonizing over
the inconclusive election results!

Please note - the TCL home game against Rosedale on the 16th of May
is now away - we will play them at home on the 22nd of August.

Sensational news - Ken 'not a member' Thomas is now Ken 'fully paid
up member' Thomas. I also understand that his wrist/hand is
more or less OK now. The salmonella burger flipping may well be back
on for 2010!

First day of the season - temperature drops, rain threatens (no
change there then) but 18 members turned out to try the newly
re-laid green on roll up day. First bowls on the green since
2008. Here's hoping for a good season.

are now also on Twitter.com tweeting away under the tweet name of
fassnidgebc. If this is too technical ask a small child to
explain!

Hoorah!! I have updated and revamped the web site in
preparation for the 2010 season. Apologies for not doing much
with it last year but what with all the disruption (all games away,
shortened fixture list etc. while the green was being replaced) I
wasn't very inspired.
Gossip Flash - I saw Ken 'not a member' Thomas the other day with
his arm in plaster as a result of a broken wrist - so no more
salmonella burger flipping from him for a while! Also, I hear
that our chairman is more of a wheelchairman at the moment having
broken his ankle. Wishing them both swift recoveries.
