Well that's the end of the season for 2007. According to my
calculations Fass won 41 games and lost 9 - a very good
performance. We also had 9 games cancelled.
I have also just found out that Pat and Geoff Roberts had won the
final of the Hayes and District Mixed Pairs - well done! This
win means that in the outside comps this year, we had 2 winners and
3 finalists.
Please have a look at the Fixtures page where I have added all
the social events that Maurice has organized for the winter months
along with important club dates.

Last Saturday found us hosting the Chiltern and Thames Finals; in
the morning semi-final rounds we played Rosedale and ran out 76-40
winners while Chesham overcame BA Concorde 54-46.
Unfortunately from our point of view we were bested by Chesham in
the final 51-41 while BA Concorde squeeked a win over Rosedale
50-49. A good day was had by one and all and a thanks to
former members Sylvie and Eddy Hopkins who traveled across
from Somerset to support the club.
We have also had the final table positions for the Three Counties
League where we have completed the season in fourth place (see
Tables).

Well the Club Finals Day has been and gone. Congratulations to our
new champions and commiserations to the runners up.
This morning, Roger and Paul played in the Uxbridge Open
semi-final but unfortunately they have not got through to the final.

A good weekend for the club. Having won our division in the
Chiltern and Thames League, a quarter final win against Wargrave on
Saturday sees us through to the semi finals along with BA Concorde,
Rosedale and Chesham. The semis and final are of course being held
at Fassnidge on the 9th September.
Today was the Finals of the London Borough of Hillingdon
comps. Joan Mortlock ran out runner-up in the Ladies Singles,
Tracey Jones and Joan Mortlock were runners up in the Ladies
Pairs. The final of the Ladies Triples saw two Fassnidge teams
battling it out for the honours. After a very close game Joan
Dunn, Sylvia Faulkner and Angela Martel sneaked a win over Sue
Thomas, Jane Adams and Joan Mortlock. Well done Joan for
representing the club in three comps.
Geoff and Pat Roberts have got through to the final of the Hayes
and District Mixed Pairs where they play against Harlington
BC. The match is on 21st September 4.00 pm at Hayes Botwell
BC

The good start to the season continues (see results). In the outside
comps Joan (Dunn), Alice, Mandy and Angela got as far as the
semi-finals in the County lady's fours before losing to Cambridge
Park. Joan, Angela and Mandy also reached the quarter finals
of the County lady's triples finals before losing out to Bishopswood.
Christine got to the last 16 of the County lady's Two Woods before
going out to Lupton. Well done so far ladies - come on you
men!
Sunday 10th June saw the club coach outing to Worthing Pavillion
BC. While the President, Treasurer, Ken 'I am not a member'
Thomas and the Hooded Webmaster explored the refreshment facilities
offered by Worthing (look someone had to do it) the rest of the club
members enjoyed a sunny day playing on what they described
subsequently as one of the best greens they had ever come
across. A superb cooked meal laid on by Worthing Pavillion
completed a perfect day. A big thank you to them for their
fine hospitality.

Good start to the season with eight wins in a row before a four shot
loss to Featherstone on Saturday. In the outside comps the men
went out in the first round of the Top Club comp to Ladygate BC and the
ladies went out in the first round of the Double Rink to Parsons
Green BC. Joan (Dunn) Alice, Mandy and Angela are through to the
quarter finals of the lady's fours. I will have to snoop
around to see who else is through in what.
Unfortunately, I never got hold of the final Winter League table
from Bovingdon Bz though the organizer assured me that Fassnidge
neither won (no surprise there then) nor came bottom.
Congratulations to the club players hardy enough to uphold the
club's honors by playing in an outdoor league through the winter
months.

This year the legendary Brain of Fassnidge trophy went to Chris's
Coven after two tie breaker rounds with Jatar the Mighty.
Thanks to all members who supported the annual Quiz Night and a
special thanks to Jean and Maurice for organising it.

The Hooded one has got hold of the Bovingdon Winter League table -
it does not make for happy viewing! With the league due to end
mid March some Houdini like tactics will be required!
